Welcome to Miss Williamson’s Year 4 class! The children have made a fantastic start to the term and I am sure this will continue throughout the year. In class, we have Year 4 children from Junior 1, 2 and 3. Maths and English are taught each morning and the foundation subjects in the afternoon. The children will either go to Mr Jennings, Mr Roberts or Miss Jones in the afternoon for their foundation subjects.
The children all have their reading books and weekly spelling lists. We encourage children to read each night and practice spellings to support their learning in school. We recommend, a ‘look, say, cover, write, check’ approach. When the children read, they will move along our reading race track in class. Throughout the year, there are many chances to win a number of prizes depending on how many times they read. Each week, home learning will be given out on a Friday and due in on the following Wednesday. Details of most home learning tasks can be found on our newsletters.
Don’t forget to take a look on our ‘See-Saw’ app to see the type of work and activities taking place in class. We also keep parents up to do date with class news and life through our weekly newsletter. These can be accessed using the links at the bottom of this page.
