Tiny Acorns Nursery
Tiny Acorns Nursery (2 year olds)
Our Tiny Acorns Nursery provides high quality care and education for children primarily below statutory school age. We work in partnership with parents to help children to learn and develop where we promote equality and value diversity.
Physical Environment
Tiny Acorns Nursery is a safe, secure and spacious room. Children have access to outside provision which provides a wide range of stimulating and fun activities for the children to access. The environment and atmosphere at ‘Cobbs Brow Tiny Acorns’ is welcoming and friendly.
The setting is managed by a fully qualified Higher Level Teaching Assistant who is supported by experienced nursery practitioners. The setting has a key person system. This means that each member of staff has a group of children for whom she/he is particularly responsible. Your child’s key person will be the person who works with you to make sure that what we provide is right for your child’s particular needs and interests.
In our setting we place equal importance on care and education within the experience which we offer children. The routines and activities that make up the session in Cobbs Brow Tiny Acorns Nursery are provided in ways that:
- help each child to feel that she/he is a valued member of Cobbs Brow Tiny Acorns Nursery;
- ensure the safety of each child;
- help children to gain from the social experience of being part of a group; and
- provide children with opportunities to learn and help them to value learning.
We follow The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum for children birth to five years
Children start to learn about the world around them from the moment they are born. The care and education offered by our setting helps children to continue to
do this by providing children with interesting activities that are appropriate for their age and stage of development.
The EYFS curriculum guidance divides children’s learning and development into the prime areas:
- personal, social and emotional development
- communication and language
- physical development
and the 4 specific areas:
- literacy
- mathematics
- understanding the world
- expressive art and design
We are open 38 weeks a year and closed during the school holidays. We provide flexibility care and education for young children between the ages of two and three years old.
