LITTLE ACORNS STARTERS – Sept 2020

Welcome to Little Acorns

Your child is due to start our Little Acorns on Wednesday 2^nd September 2020. As you will be aware, due to the Coronavirus Pandemic, schools are currently only open to those children of critical key workers for childcare provision. As a result, we have unfortunately been unable to carry out our normal transition procedures. In normal circumstances you will have been invited into school for a meeting and been able to meet key staff and look around the settings.

The information below is designed to support the smooth transition of your child into our nursery classes. The information includes details about your child’s class, routines, organisation and the attached videos will allow you and your child to become familiar with the setting. The videos will also introduce the key staff including teachers and teaching assistants.

As the headteacher, I am delighted that your child will be starting Little Acorns at Cobbs Brow Primary School and I extend a very warm welcome to you and your family. Cobbs Brow is a warm, caring and happy place to be. The staff are dedicated to ensuring we offer the best learning experiences for your child ensuring that we work closely with all parent and carers.

Nursery children follow the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum. Play underpins all development and learning for young children and therefore your child will take part in indoor and outdoor play experiences that will help them learn and develop their enquiring mind while they are having fun.

Our nursery provision is lead by a fully qualified teacher.

As the Early Years Leader here at Cobbs Brow, I am excited to welcome you and your child into our wonderful Little Acorns setting. Our Early Years team will work alongside yourselves to ensure your child has the best possible start to their education.

Children develop quickly in the early years. It is our aim to provide a secure, safe and happy environment, with supportive and trusted adults, to provide children with the foundation they need to make the most of their abilities and talents as they grow up.

We pride ourselves on offering an outstanding, high quality play based curriculum which is supported by qualified and experienced staff within a well resources environment. Our aim being, to give our children the range of knowledge, skills and understanding they need to ensure their school readiness and help them progress successfully through life.

We are always available to answer any queries or questions, however small or big, so please do not hesitate to get in touch.
