Mrs Mort
We are looking forward to welcoming the children into Little Acorns. Our nursery is a very fun place to be. We have a team of very experienced staff and teachers to help your child to make friends, have fun, and progress in their learning.
During the Autumn term we will be learning about numbers 1-5, mark making and learning about many different, exciting topics. such as ‘All About Me’, and ‘Christmas’.
Our weekly home learning activity bag will go home with someone different each week. Inside you will find a book to record the home learning that you have done that week.
We will also have parent-play sessions so keep an eye out for dates on our newsletter which can be found on the website. Also, on the newsletter there will be information on what areas of learning we have been focusing on and what our topics will be in class.
Every week on Seesaw you will find a copy of our newsletter as well as any other nursery notices and photographs of what the children have been up to each week.
Every day we will check the children’s communication book in their blue bag so please feel free to add any information in there that we need to know. We would also like you to use the communication book as a home journal, so for example if the children do any nice activities at weekend you could write a short description for us and a photo or a child’s drawing would be lovely. The journal entries will be shared in class on a Monday morning where the children who want to, will have a chance to stand up and talk about what they have done. Please feel free to share any special achievements from home by making a note in the communication book, that way we can celebrate their progress in class.
Our Day
At Little Acorns we play and learn both indoors and outdoors. Children take part in key worker time (snack & chat), talk time, funky fingers, phonics and number activities each day.
PE sessions take place on a Monday morning and a Thursday afternoon. Mrs O’Sullivan is in on a Thursday afternoon. Please make sure that you child has a PE kit fully labelled (including pumps) in a labelled PE bag. PE kits will be sent home every half term.
Please send your child to school with a labelled water bottle. We will fill these up during the day for them.
At any time, should you wish to discuss your child’s progress or have any questions please just feel free to ask at any time.
Thank you so much for your support,
Mrs Mort, Mrs Brady, Mrs Cullen, Miss Durkin & Mrs O’Sullivan
