Children’s progress is carefully monitored by the class teacher, Senior Leadership Team and the Headteacher through a system of continuous assessment. Assessment enables us to track the progress of individual children, set targets and ensure that we are meeting their needs. Formal Baseline assessment is undertaken at the beginning and end of the school year for pupils in the Reception group. At the end of Year 1 children take a phonics screening test. At the end of Year 2 and the end of Year 6 children are assessed using the National Curriculum Standard Attainment Tasks/Tests (SATs). All cohorts are also assessed.
